Twitter Users – How do you like yours?

So having been tweeting for 4 years now, I have come across lots of different styles, lots of different ways to spam, and of course lots of different way to bore me rigid, but I have come across some mighty fine tweeters (so trying to be good here and not use another term for those that use this particular social media method!).

So listed is what turns me off, and what turns me on as regards following people.

So pet hate number one has to be automated tweets – dddoooohhhh did you lot read and comprehend the whole ethos re twitter ie SOCIAL media – go look up the word! How on earth can I interact with you, when I am talking to a bloody machine missing the human touch??

Another peeve has to be the ‘thanks for following me please go to our site and see what we can sell you’, direct message, that is automated. Hello …. I am an individual not a mass gathering!

So thats, all automated people off the list, and all those who send annoying automated messages when you follow them.

Right next, the character of what is written.

I deliberately follow various who merely send quick jokes – reason being – everyone would do with a flicker of a smile during the day – but do unfollow those who just spout out motivational sayings or just quotes …. don’t you possess an original thought??

Ok, so some say you shouldn’t tweet about what you had for breakfast and when you went to the loo etc, but mixed in with humour, some informatiom, and a lot of character you can and will get away with it – although yes, constant updates re this would get a tad jarring!!

So what makes a good tweeter?

Simple, remember what its all about – its called social media for a reason – ie interact with others, listen, talk (ok tweet), and join in generally.

Oh yes and hashtags – if you have a group of you wishing to chat, handy things meaning you can open a new window and chat with various who are all interested in that particular topic.

So, what annoys you about your fellow tweeters? What little habits should we drop or even adopt?

Banks 1 v Cameron 0

“We will bring forward detailed proposals for robust action to tackle unacceptable bonuses in the financial services sector; in developing these proposals, we will ensure they are effective in reducing risk. We want the banking system to serve business, not the other way round.”

Something held up to us the populace to show that the Government will take action and will make those dirty greedy bankers control themselves!

Did it happen?

Did it hell!

The Finance market provides £53 billion in taxes, thats 11% of the whole, and you think they are not going to remind those who think they wield power??

Ministers in the news are saying to bankers – restraint please, but behind the scenes? They can but wish for it.

So we will have to wait and see if Osborne for all his huffing and puffing will actually take robust action …
