What is an  EICR Certificate?

What Happens During an EICR?

The electrician will do tests to look for any flaws or potential hazards, such as faulty wiring, overloaded circuits, or insufficient earthing. They may need to utilise specialised instruments and equipment to perform these tests correctly. The electrician will meticulously document their observations during the inspection procedure. This involves noting any flaws or areas that need to be improved. These observations are then put into the EICR, an official report.

Who Can Conduct an Electrical Inspection?

EICR can be performed by electricians who are members of organisations such as the National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC), the Electrical Contractors Association (ECA), or the Registered Competent Person Electrical Scheme (RCPE).
